Kevin Crowley is Professor of Education and Cognitive Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh’s Learning Research & Development Center where he also directs the Center for Learning in Out-of-School Settings (UPCLOSE). Dr. Crowley’s research explores what it means to learn and change as a result of activity in everyday environments including museums, commercial and community settings, on the web, and at home. The requires connecting academic theory and real world practice, and a focus on the relationships between learners, mediators, and environments, and experiences. He is currently a visiting fellow at the Department of Psychology and Education at the University of Tokyo in Japan. He received his Ph.D. in psychology from Carnegie Mellon University in 1994.
